John Vigar

In the Name of God Amen
I John Vigar of the parish of Burstow in the County of Surry Farmer being sick and weak in body but of sound perfect mind memory and understanding do make and declare my last Will and Testament in manner and form following First I will that all my just debts and Financial expenses be paid and discharged by my Executrix herein after named I give devise and bequeath unto my loving wife Mary Vigar All and singular my household Goods Cattels and Chattels Corn and hay growing and to grow together with all my ready money and all other my substance Right Tithe Interest property claim and demand of what kind or nature so ever the same be or wheresoever or in whosoever hands the same may be found for and towards the maintaining mourishing and bringing up and education of such of my Children as at this time are not capable of maintaining themselves by reason of their young and tender years and do make my wife the said Mary Vigar whole and and sole executrix of this my last Will and Testament In witness whereof I the said John Vigar have hereunto set my hand and Seal the fourth day of January in the year of our Lord One thousand seven hundred and seventy eight John Vigar signed sealed published and declared by the said Testator to be his last Will and Testament in the presence of us who in his presence and at his desire have set our names and witnesses hereunto James Goble (his mark) Catherine Hobley (her mark) Eliz Snelling (her mark)

This Will was proved at London the third day of August in the year of Our Lord One thousand seven hundred and seventy eight before the Worshipful Francis Simpson Doctor of Law Surrogate of the Right Worshipful Sir George Hay Knight Doctor of Law Master Keeper or Commipany of the Prerogative Court of Canterbury lawfully constituted by the Oath of Mary Vigar Widow the Relict of the deceased and the sole executrix named in the said Will to whom the administration was granted of all and singular the goods chattels and Credits of the said deceased having been first sworn duly to administer.
